Program Details

Universidad Antonio de Nebrija - Online

At the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija – Online, your courses will be just as exciting as the city itself. Nebrija is our on-site academic partner in Madrid and is offering some innovative online classes as well as a slate of Spanish Language and cultural courses. Choose between two online tracks: Spanish Plus or Hispanic Studies. Learn from local Spanish professors who’ll be connecting with you via video conference twice a week and stay connected to other students and faculty through fun debates. Take some unique courses that examine the impact of COVID-19 in a global context: International Management, Intercultural Communication, and European Studies: Culture, History, & Integration.

This experience with Universidad Antonio de Nebrija may draw you to campus for on-site studying! Just to paint a fuller picture of what to expect, campus offers a beautiful terrace, computer lab with free wifi, and cafeteria. Clubs and activities include language exchanges, workshops on public speaking or intercultural communications, and welcome parties, dinners, and games. Learn more with a virtual tour of campus.

Each course at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija is worth 3 U.S. credits. You can take a maximum of two courses per session. 

The university will be delivering course materials through Blackboard, including “live” sessions, where you’ll be able to engage with professors. Each course will include the following: 

  1. Two weekly video conference sessions with professors 
  2. Question solving forums
  3. Debates between students and faculty

Courses will be taught daily, Monday to Friday both synchronously and asynchronously. The vast majority of English courses and upper level Spanish courses are taught in the afternoons, so students can join synchronously if wanted, or asynchronously. Most beginner and intermediate Spanish Courses are taught asynchronously.

If students are able, they can attend classes live and will submit assignments through the Virtual Campus platform.

If students prefer to attend classes asynchronously, classes will be recorded and students must answer verification questions to earn their attendance/participation points. Exams will be timed and taken through the Virtual Campus platform.

All students are able to book a meeting with their professor when needed.

  • Explore the Royal Palace:

    Located right in the center of the city, this stunning monument has over 2500 rooms! Learn about the palace grounds and get a feel for how kings and queens used to enjoy their private life.

  • Dance the Flamenco:

    Spain is the birthplace of the rich, passionate art form of Flamenco. Learn about this traditional Spanish cultural performance and even get a chance to try your own skills!

  • Madrid de los Austrias:

    Through funny anecdotes and stories we will review a time period of Madrid which can still be reflected in many of its streets and spaces; the reign of the Habsburgs.
