Hawai'i Pacific University - Online

Study online in Hawaiʻi’s capital at the oceanside Hawaiʻi Pacific University (HPU). About 30 percent of students at HPU are international and come from more than 80 different countries, so you’re likely to study with international classmates. This unique online study abroad experience combines quality American educational systems with global influences. At HPU, you’ll find courses in disciplines like liberal arts and business, along with a highly supportive faculty.

If you’re interested in a future semester on campus, it’s good to know that HPU has two different campuses, which are linked together by a free shuttle. One campus is in a more urbanized setting, located in bustling downtown Honolulu, and the other, the Hawaiʻi Loa campus, is located on 135 tropical acres just 15 minutes away. The school also has exceptional facilities, like computer labs, libraries, tutoring services, wireless internet, laboratories, and communications facilities for broadcasting, multimedia, and journalism students.

Why Virtual Life in Honolulu

You’ll be able to feel Hawaiʻi’s warmth from wherever you’re completing your online studies! Located on the “Big Island” of Oahu, this jewel in the Pacific is home to coveted landscapes. Hawaiʻi’s unique heritage has led to a fascinating melting pot of people with Asian, European, and indigenous backgrounds. (Do you know what the okina is?)

Until you can dip your toes into the blue water yourself, experience the enchantment of a hike through the lush rainforest or learn how to surf (without getting wet!) in our Virtual La Vida Local program. Deepen your connection to Honolulu by learning about Hawaiʻi’s history with sovereignty and the many local festivals, including Whale Day, the Polynesian Festival, a hula competition at the Merrie Monarch Festival, the Hawaiʻian International Film Festival, Statehood Day, and the Coffee Festival.
