WHY THIS UNIVERSITY?
The University of Economics, Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze) is the leading university in management and economics in the Czech Republic. The University is located in the center of Prague. You’ll study within walking distance of historical monuments, medieval churches, and other sites soaked with history.
There are many on-campus places to eat, study, and relax, including two restaurants, a coffee lounge, and two school cafeterias. Enjoy free Internet access for your laptop or device, or head to the computer labs. In fact, one lab is dedicated solely to international and exchange students.
The school attracts students from all over the world, so it’s easy to make new international friends. Actually, the University has many resources to help you feel at home and get to know local students. The Central and East European Studies Program (CESP) works with the “Czech Buddy System.” You’ll have a “Czech Buddy” who will introduce you to Prague. Through CESP, you can join many exciting activities, including a language exchange, domestic and international trips, parties, and sports teams. This program will help you feel truly involved on campus and in your new city.
When you complete your studies, you’ll receive a Prague transcript. Professors teach their courses completely in English and design them for international students. You’ll delve into the history and future of Central and East European economies, societies, politics, and languages. Finally, you can even challenge yourself with a Czech language course, which will improve your understanding of the wonderful culture of Prague.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR COURSESNow the fun part! You get to pick the courses you will take abroad. Review the course information on this page. Once you’ve decided which courses you want to take, fill out the CISabroad Course Selection Worksheet in your online portal.
COURSE APPROVALMake sure to talk with your home university about course approval and get additional classes approved before you go abroad. For example, if you are taking 4 classes abroad, we recommend getting 8 approved. This gives you some flexibility in setting up your class schedule. Think about courses required for your major, but also courses that fulfill your elective requirements.
GPA REQUIREMENTIf you find your GPA is lower than the requirement listed at the top of this page, do not despair! Get in touch to let us know your situation. In many cases, there are additional application materials that you can submit to make your case for acceptance.
