Study Spots at DCU

You will find awesome cafes and fun spots to study off-campus, and you will have your own private bedroom with a nice desk at which you can peacefully study at home.

That said, don’t forget about these fantastic study spots on campus that you will definitely want to check out:

The DCU Library:

This beautiful building is the obvious choice for a study session. There are loads of seats and desk areas to suit all preferences. You can even book study rooms in order to have a private study session with a group from your class.

You can also take advantage of the Maths Learning Centre and Writing Centre. And don’t be shy! You’re a DCU student, so these services are intended for you!

The Student Centre– have a look at this news article for a full list of amenities.

This is a brand new building on campus, and it exists purely for student use. You’ll notice that a lot of student support services can be accessed at information desks in the student centre.

The DCU clubs and societies, or “DCU clubs and socs” as they are known on campus, use this space as a home base, too, but you can also find seating and chairs all around for studying and socializing. And with the NuBar housed on the ground floor if you want to pop in for a snack.

It won’t be your quietest option, but if you like to study with a little commotion around you, this might be your spot!

The Helix:

This is primarily a concert venue, and is actually the filming location for Ireland’s Got Talent!

But you can also buy a cup of coffee here and sit in the window if there’s space, so it can be a nice change of pace from the library or student center. It’s also a great place to meet up with your friends and peers, with convenient bus routes for getting into town very nearby.
