Site Visits for 2018:
Prague & Paris Group Site Visit: Saturday, July 7 – Saturday, July 14, 2018 (including travel time)
Learn more about our Paris, France and Prague, Czech Republic semester and summer programs. Starting off in the “City of Light” you will explore this renowned city’s culture, food, and iconic sites such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. You will have an informative day at our partner institution, Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP), a well-respected private university, meeting staff and faculty, seeing their facilities first-hand and gaining an understanding of the academic offerings at the various French language levels. You will come to appreciate what student life is like by walking around the campus itself (on the site of a 17th century convent), visiting housing, and taking in the nearby Latin Quarter – the college-town neighborhood of the city. After several days, we’ll say “au revoir” to Paris and say “ahoj” to Prague, which has been said to be the “…equal of Paris in terms of beauty” with its preserved architecture and rich history.
CISabroad’s programs in Prague are some of our Most Affordable Programs – a semester is under $9,000! We’ll visit our partner, the University of Economics, Prague which is highly regarded for its business and economics programs, to get a taste for their educational system and academic curriculum. In addition we’ll visit the university-run residence halls where both our summer and semester students stay. Cultural activities may include a Vltava River Cruise, a visit to the Pilsen Historic District to witness the brewing of what the Czechs call their “liquid bread,” and a journey to Český Krumlov, a town bisected by the Vltava River and honored to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Japan Group Site Visit: Friday, November 9, 2018 – Saturday, November 17, 2018 (including travel time)
Come with CISabroad to see the famous fall colors of Japan and visit our semester, summer, and January term programs in Kyoto and Tokyo! Starting off in Tokyo, we’ll explore the fast-paced and influential city and learn more about our summer and January term partner, Seisen University. Imagine yourself as a student as we walk through the university’s private hilltop campus, which sits on the grounds of a former Samurai Mansion. It is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet downtown Tokyo neighborhoods are easily accessible. Bilingual Japanese professors, staff, and students will welcome us and we will learn about Seisen’s internationally focused curriculum, campus community, and housing. From here we head to Kyoto, home of our semester program, aboard one of the famed Japanese high-speed bullet trains!
Kyoto’s beauty and intrigue, which is home to an astonishing seventeen UNESCO World Heritage Sites, combined with its young vibe (college students comprise 10% of the city’s population) make our Semester in Japan Program irresistible. Students study at the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, which has a strong focus on Japanese language and culture, and we’ll get a taste for campus life, academic environment, and student apartment living. In addition to seeing temples mixed amongst skyscrapers, we’ll fuel up on the best sushi of our lives as we take in this small but grand island nation.
