Kyoto’s beauty and intrigue, which is home to an astonishing 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, combined with its young vibe (college students comprise 10% of the city’s population) make our Semester in Japan – Kyoto University of Foreign Studies program irresistible. This program has a strong focus on Japanese language and culture, and you’ll get a taste for campus life, academic environment, and student apartment living. In addition to seeing temples mixed among skyscrapers, you’ll fuel up on the best sushi of your life as we take in this small but grand island nation.
From here we head to Tokyo, home of three of our academic programs, aboard one of the famed Japanese high-speed bullet trains! Here, you’ll explore the fast-paced and influential city and learn more about our Summer in Japan – Seisen University program. Imagine yourself as a student as we walk through the university’s private hilltop campus, which sits on the grounds of a former Samurai Mansion. It is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet downtown Tokyo neighborhoods are easily accessible. You’ll also have a chance to visit CISabroad’s newest Tokyo-area semester partners, Toyo University and Meiji Gakuin University. Meet bilingual Japanese professors, staff, and students, learn our internationally focused curriculum, campus community, and housing.
