Summer at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona

Take courses in English and Spanish and enjoy the 2,000 years of architectural and cultural splendor that Barcelona offers. You’ll study on the beautiful new campus of this internationally known university.

CIS students in Barcelona will study at one of the top universities in Spain: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Founded in 1968, UAB is a young, entrepreneurial university. It is one of the few universities in Spain that was designed to have a true campus feel—housing students, research, a language center, sports facilities, a health club, restaurants, and shops in one community. Today, 3 campuses serve 29,000 undergraduates, including 2,000 international students. And no matter your level of Spanish, you’ll find great classes!

Students spending the summer at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona will be taking classes at the Sarria campus.  The Sarria campus is located on Consell de Cent Street, just a few metres away from Passeig the Gracia, a major shopping and business area in Barcelona.  This is the newest of the University’s 3 campuses, as it opened in January 2009, however students will have access to classrooms equipped with new technologies.  You will be taking classes with both local Spanish students and others from across the world.
