As part of your summer study abroad program in Westminster, you will have the opportunity to explore some England’s most spectacular cities and attractions. Here are just a couple of the places you might be visiting:

Houses of Parliament
The heart of British politics is seated in the Houses of Parliament, situated in the Palace of Westminster right next to the River Thames and round the corner from Downing Street and Whitehall. More widely known as Big Ben, this name actually refers to one of the five bells that hang at the top of the famous clock-tower. The buildings adjoining the tower form the seat of the British Parliament; the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Construction for the most modern rebuild of the palace began in 1840, leaving us with the perpendicular gothic structure we see today. Topping out with more than 1,100 rooms and 100 staircases, the palace is certainly sumptuous and well worth a visit to absorb the ongoing history of British Parliament.

You can't visit England without a trip to the iconic stone rings of Stonehenge! The mystery of this famous world-heritage site attracts over 1 million people each year.

Take a break from London and enjoy a change of pace in another of England's thriving and unique cities!

Heidi, our Site Director in London, is dedicated to making sure you have the full English experience. She will send out updates to CISabroad students with information on any free or cheap activities coming up in the area.
