Semester Architecture Studies in Rome is housed at the Pantheon Institute, founded in 2007 to provide quality academic programs for US college and university students. It is recognized by Italy’s Ministry of Education and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) through its partnership with Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. And they offer something not many institutions can say – they are located directly in the center of this historic city, with the Pantheon just around the corner.
The on-site staff is dedicated to providing a friendly, safe and academically rewarding environment for American study abroad students to learn in. They understand the importance of these things when living in a huge city that to many students can seem quite different from their home experience. They are also focused on enhancing their curriculum by incorporating numerous cultural and educational resources of Italy while focusing on the Lazio region in which Rome is located. They use the city as their classroom which is another perk to the amazing central location!
The Institute has a number of architecture studios; the largest are in Via della Gatta and Via del Pantheon. The spacious, bright studios have been renovated in a refined contemporary style resulting in a harmonious mix of modern and Renaissance. They contain architecture tables equipped with sliding rulers and lamps, as well as common work areas and ample pin-up space. There’s also a computer lab, a library, a conference room, and an administrative office. A network with dedicated internet access connects a series of computers equipped with the latest design software, including AutoCAD and other programs.
