Semester in Aix en Provence

Spend your semester in beautiful southern France. Live in this tree-lined,mansion-filled city while studying French language and elective courses taught in English or French. C’est magnifique!

On Semester in Aix en Provence, you will be living in a home stay.  Living in a French home is the way to go, because you get an immediate, in-depth introduction to life in this new place. Host families come from a cross section of society and belong to no particular professional or social milieu. All are carefully chosen and many have hosted American students for several years.

Most of the home stay locations will be a 15 to 35 minute walk from classes at the school.  Your home stay will include either a single or double bedroom, breakfast daily and 6 dinners per week; bed linens, pillow, and blankets will be available for students to use, although towels will need to be brought from home or purchased after arrival. The room will be cleaned each week and hosts will generally provide one machine wash load per week.  Internet access may be available for students in the home stay, and students will have access to Internet cafes around Aix.

Many students feel that living in a home stay is preferable to living independently. By living with a host family and becoming a part of that family, you will have countless opportunities to work on your French language skills, and can increase your awareness of current events and cultural customs, which can only enhance your study abroad experience!
