Semester in Newcastle includes the 5-day Great Barrier Reef Culture and Adventure Program. Exciting excursions over land and sea introduce you to Aussie life! We’ll prepare you for the cultural changes that you may encounter and give you a chance to experience the Great Barrier Reef up close. Plus, you will meet other study abroad students heading to Newcastle.
Upon arrival at the University, you’ll take part in a weeklong orientation that gives you important academic and settling-in information. For the adventure-minded, low-cost excursions and field trips are organized throughout the semester, including Aussie- experience and adventure tours.
You’ll quickly see that the University Union is central to campus. The Union houses an array of facilities, such as cafeterias, coffee shops, pubs, a bookshop, a bank, a gift and stationery shop, and a hair salon. The Union also organizes cultural and social events throughout the semester, among them lunchtime concerts, street theater, arts festivals, and markets. The campus facilities support student life and learning, and you will find excellent libraries, computer centers, modern lecture theaters, laboratories, and top-notch recreational facilities.
