La Trobe University is one of Australia's leading universities. It has 7 campuses around the state of Victoria—including its flagship near the center of Melbourne, which has more than 26,000 students. It has an international reputation for academic excellence and innovation. Indeed, the UK Times ranked it among the best 150 universities in the world.
The Bendigo campus is LaTrobe's second largest, with more than 4,000 local and international students. You’ll have tons of opportunities to meet local Aussies and other international students. The campus is situated about 2 miles from the city center on 33 hectares of natural Australian bushland adjacent to Bendigo National Park. Student apartments, the fitness center, and lecture halls are all within easy walking distance.
As one student, Dennis B., said about studying in Bendigo, “Part of the great thing about this campus is it’s so close to the forest. You can be sitting up in the Ironbark Centre which is where we have most of our Outdoor Ed lectures and look out the window and there’ll be a kangaroo hopping by or you can hear the birds flying around. It’s just a really nice place to come and study.”
