Semester in Bendigo offers a 14-week semester starting in either July or February. La Trobe University has an international reputation for academic excellence and innovation and was ranked among the best 150 universities in the world by the UK Times. In addition the general course offerings, the University also has one of the few Adventure Education programs in the world.
Adventure Education Program
If you are interested in Adventure Education, this is the program for you! You will take 3–5 subjects, choosing between a full outdoor education curriculum or an interdisciplinary program combining outdoor education with subjects such as biology, photography, and psychology. Outdoor education subjects include Outdoor Living and Travel Skills, Naturalist Studies, Worldviews and the Environment, Adventures in the Australian Landscape, and Australian Environments.
GPA Required: 2.5. If you find your GPA is lower than the requirement, do not despair! Use the "Contact An Advisor" button on this page or call us to let us know your situation. We'll do all we can to find the right program for you.
How to choose your courses
Now the fun part! As part of the application process you will be required to complete the CISabroad Course Selection Worksheet found in the CISabroad Application Page. The following instructions will guide you through the steps of choosing your courses. You can choose courses in the following disciplines: Humanities and Social Sciences; Education; Business, Law and Management; Health Sciences; Science and Computing; and Engineering.
Course load: 3–4 classes (12–16 US credits)
Course approval: It is best to get 7–8 classes approved before you go abroad. This gives you some flexibility in setting up your class schedule. Think about courses required for your major, but also courses that fulfill your elective requirements.

From there, you can view different majors/programs. Click on a "bachelor" program offered at the "Bendigo" campus. The section will expand and you can then click on "Bendigo" at the bottom of that section next to "Full course details," which will steer you into a selection of courses. Click on "Subject code" to view a specific course's details. You'll want to only consider courses that are available to study abroad students "Y."

With this tool, you can use a keyword search in the "Subject Short Title" to find courses with a specific focus. Ex: "health" for Subject Short Title and "Bendigo" for location yields all courses with "health" in the course name. For this method, the same guidelines apply as above: you'll want to make sure the course is offered on the "Bendigo" campus and is available to study abroad students "Y."
Timetables: There are 2 ways to determine when a class is offered.
• The syllabus at the bottom of the course description. At the bottom you will see whether the class is offered in Semester 1 (spring) or Semester 2 (fall).
• The number at the end of the course code. For instance: For the code ACC12, ACC = Accounting; 1 = first-year level course; 2 = Semester 2 (fall)
