Due to UK immigration regulations, all Summer Intern in London students will be participating in 20 hours of their customized internship and 20 hours of a "British Life and Culture" course per week.
"British Life and Culture" is specifically designed for London internship students, and will not only help you to better understand the host culture in which you will be living, but also how to best apply the experience of your internship to other academic and employment opportunities after the program has ended. Please note: if you wish to obtain academic credit for this internship, you must get the approval of your home university advisor for this credit transfer ahead of time. If you need a syllabus for the British Life and Culture course, please ask a CIS advisor.

Placement selection process
Our internship team has been placing American students for over 35 years and on average contacts 40–50 companies per student to find the right placement. Once you’re accepted into the program, the team will contact you to discuss your preferences, priorities, and professional and personal goals. Most students (97 percent) are placed prior to departure—you’ll be informed by e-mail. During the orientation week in London, you will interview in person with your organization. Opportunities exist in both small, dynamic local firms and market-leading multinational organizations.
